Monitors system events and notifies subscribers to COM Event System of these events. If this service is stopped, COM Event System subscribers will not receive system event notifications. BlackViper.com adds: You will receive, in the Event Log, an entry complaining about not having this service running if disabled. I have yet to find a side effect, though. For a safe configuration, leave this service on automatic.
